About Modified Surveillance Process

The Government has notified the "Electronics and IT Goods (Requirement for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" mandating Indian Safety Standards for the notified goods under the ambit of Registration Scheme notified by BIS under the BIS Act, 1986.

The effective surveillance is an integral part of the Compulsory Registration Order (www.crsbis.in). The surveillance comprises of random surveillance of registered manufacturer and market surveillance to curb the sale of non-registered/non-compliant notified goods being sold in the market. MeitY has revamped the surveillance process wherein Software Technology Parks of India has been entrusted with the administration of the surveillance. STPI shall be performing the surveillance activities like collection/storage/delivery of the test samples to the BIS recognized labs, review of test reports and collection of charges (as notified by MeitY) for implementation of "Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" notified on 03.10.2012.

Instruction For Return Of Deposit

1. Please login with valid credentials. Use Forgot Password, if required.

2. Please fill in the Request Form for Returning the Deposit.

  • You are required to provide information on the Authorised Person's Detail Section. Please note that the information provided will be critical for establishing communication on deposit related matters.
  • Please note it is mandatory to upload the scanned copy of the employee id in PDF form for verification purposes. In case the uploaded employee id does not match with the credentials provided in the Authorised Person’s Detail section, the request will not be considered.
  • In the Bank Details section, it is mandatory to upload the scanned copy of the cancelled cheque in PDF form. In case the scanned copy is not clear/blurred/distorted or torn in a way where information on the cheque is not readable, the request will not be considered.

3. Please do not share your login credentials with anyone. In case there is a difference in the registered person's name and the person claiming the deposit, STPI will not be liable for any financial/information discrepancy.

4. Please reach out to pmu.crs@stpi.in or call us at +911124346678 between 10 AM to 6 PM from Monday to Friday in case you are facing any issues in logging in.
